Very true, John. After years of playing the victim, airing my grievances to all and sundry, and alienating many of my friends (and a good portion of the ward) with my constant complaining and seemingly never-ending chain of personal crises, I’m finally “getting it”. The upside is that this kind of lesson, once learned, tends to stay burned inside the soul.

(By the way, congrats on going for the Psych PhD. I think your deep personal interest and experience will serve you well.)
